Accedia has developed AIcademy, an AI-powered educational platform for primary and secondary school students. The platform personalizes learning materials to each student's pace and progress, while giving teachers the tools to review and approve all AI-generated content before it reaches the classroom. It is now available for schools and educational institutions to explore.
AIcademy addresses one of the core challenges in educational technology: making AI useful in a classroom without removing the teacher from the process. The platform generates lesson summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and real-time chat support, all grounded in approved curriculum sources and adapted to each learner's needs. Teachers retain full control over what students see.
"The question was not whether AI can generate learning content, but whether we can guarantee that content is accurate, age-appropriate, and built only on approved sources," said Alexander Todorov, Project Lead. "AIcademy is the answer to those three questions."
The platform is designed for European schools, with GDPR compliance built in from the start and support for multiple languages and national curricula. It was developed by a cross-functional team of 16 specialists and is funded with the support of the European Union under the program "Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises" 2021-2027.
