How Accedia nurtures the talents of tomorrow

Accedia has a long history of working together with schools, high schools, and universities to build a bridge between education and practice. Over the years, we have shown support through internship programs, key initiatives sponsorships, and technical equipment and furniture donations. Here are some of the educational institutions we have collaborated with.

The cohesive and lasting collaboration with the Technology school Electronic Systems (TUES) is part of our signature. This year, our colleagues participated in the 9th edition of HackTUES – the only hackathon in Bulgaria organized by high school students for high students addressing real-life problems. Krum Yordanov, DevOps Engineer, and Viktor Stamoff, Software Consultant at Accedia helped two teams in their projects for a Secure social media with a Marketplace and a Password manager. Yordan Yordanov, a Senior Engineering Manager, was part of the jury council assessing the student projects during the semi-finals.

Another codefest Accedia took part in for the first time is FMI {Codes}, organized by the Student Council of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics. The 48-hours hackathon gathered over 100 students. Their task was to develop their own projects in teams on the topic Code for Entertainment. Our Software Consultants Mayya Markova and Vanyo Ivanov mentored the students by lending their experience and knowledge and providing guidance.

Some notable projects our mentors advised were a Monopoly-like game with financial transactions, Pokémon Go with NFTs connected to a POS, a multiplayer game for coding with a saboteur trying to incorporate bugs, and many more.

At Accedia, collaboration is an essential part of building software solutions. Thus, we believe hackathons are an excellent opportunity for students to work together on new, exciting projects. At the same time, they learn new techniques, sharpen their skillsets, and learn from the successes and failures of their peers.

In addition to that, we are supporting the approaching TUES Fest on April 23rd – a traditional open doors festival where students exhibit their most curious projects in software, computer networking, and robotics.

Lastly, you can join us at the upcoming FMI Career Fair on May 11th to meet our bright team and learn more about our culture and openings.
