Microsoft hosted its 15th annual Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) at the Metro Convention Center in Toronto (July 10-14) and for the first time Accedia took part in this major tech event that brought together more than 16,000 attendees from over 130 countries.
“It’s incredible and passionate to watch how our partners embrace digital transformation by using the latest Microsoft cloud services”, said Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella during his introducing speech on the first day of the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2016.
Mr. Nadella made it clear that the main theme for the three-day event would be digital transformation and also added that Microsoft aims to be both technology and business partner to companies going through digital transformation.
“More than 90 percent of our revenues come through our partners, and we’re committed to help them continually grow their business by sharing technology innovations that will open up new opportunities for them”, commented Gavriella Schuster, Corporate Vice President of Worldwide Partner Group.
On the second day of the conference the Executive Vice President of Windows and Devices Group Terry Myerson announced that Windows 10 Anniversary Update is coming to all Windows 10 devices for free on Aug. 2, 2016. He also mentioned that Windows 10 continues to be the fastest-growing version of Windows ever and is now running on more than 350 million devices worldwide.
Microsoft revealed that Office 365 is gaining more than 50,000 new global customers per month.
A wide range of topics and new technologies were presented by top speakers during hundreds of sessions but the core subject of WPC 2016 was the Microsoft Cloud and how it can help partners maximize their services and reach new customers.
According to the latest Microsoft statistics, over 85 percent of the Fortune 500 companies are using Microsoft cloud services and the cloud market will exceed $500 billion by 2020.
